Analysis of the influence of different weld geometry model on fatigue strength of a weld
Holeta, Aleš ; Pokorný, Jan (referee) ; Vosynek, Petr (advisor)
The work was focus on the analysis of the fatigue life of a simple welded joint. The main goal of this work was to compare different methods of evaluation of welded joints and different methods of creating a geometry of computational models. Calculations were per-formed analytically and numerically. The numerical solution was performed using FEM. The problem was analysed in the open-source program Salome Meca and in the commercial pro-gram ANSYS Workbench.
Computational Modelling of Welded Joints
Schiffer, Adam ; Řehák, Kamil (referee) ; Dlugoš, Jozef (advisor)
Welded joint is nowadays a very widespread method of joining materials. Welded joints are produced by very complex technological processes, and therefore it is necessary to assess their behavior. Currently, a large number of FEM software products has been developed, offering better efficiency in the design of welded joints. This work contains a summary of selected software and their methodologies in computational modelling of welded joints. In addition to the description of individual software, it also contains their comparison on the basis of set criteria. The possibility of including phase transformations in the analysis of the welding process was chosen as the main criterion. A survey of the availability of student licenses was also carried out.
